Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea (of which he was mayor, fun fact), and San Fran, that is! Monterey and Carmel were beautiful, green, & full of rich white retirees and lots of art (but no fake plants...seriously. They are actually illegal.)
We made it into San Fran yesterday morning around 10, meeting up with the lovely miss Courtney Rump who set up an awesome tour of the Anchor Steam Brewery for us...beer for breakfast never tasted so delicious :) From there, she somehow made it to work & we began some explorations of the city, starting with Alcatraz (very cool...a zoo, but a very cool zoo). From there, we made it down to the Mission neighborhood to stay with the awesomest girl ever (Ali Murphy) and shenanigans ensued, leading us to some delicious Mexican food action as well as some craft beer drink-age in the very cool area.
This morning, we left the Mission area after a few hours of going through vintage shops and burrito restaurants & made it down to the Wharf. After a few oysters and a little exploring we checked into our nearby hotel, the San Remo, which is apparently haunted by the "painted lady" Madame (who at one point ran a brothel in the building), and a little girl who tries to get into rooms. We'll let you know.
2 more days in the city then on to Napa! Here, look at our awesome pictures:

Central Coast and Changes of Plans
Camera crisis averted & we're back online, errr'ybody!
San Diego and the Peterschmidts are awesome, Dale learned a little guitar from Daniel, Thomas taught Jimmy a thing or two about extreme trampolining and lacrosse, and Gabi and Dale kicked some butt in Demon. Awesome stay, for sure.
Since, we've stopped in to LA and spent a day in Venice and Santa Monica to pop Jimmy's coastal LA cherry, followed by a night of sweet beach camp-age in Malibu. One interesting thing about traveling like we are is that we have realized that there are tons of Europeans that are doing the same thing that we are...good old euro exchange rate, they're living it up over here!!
Although our plans were originally to camp in Big Sur tonight, the PCH is closed 20 miles south of the campgrounds due to mudslides, which we obviously had to see for ourselves, which resulted in about 100 miles of backtracking. Not a bad deal, turns out, because we not only discovered Hearst Castle (although too late to actually tour it, we SAW it! :) ), the fact that elephant seals actually inhabit North America, also an amazing little place called Salmon Creek, but we also get to get a shower in in a hotel room in Monterrey this evening :) Pictures, pictures:
Monterrey and Carmel are tomorrow, then off to San Fran! More updates soon to come!

West Coast Peterschmidts!
After a struggling day in Mission Beach, we have managed to make it up to Carlsbad to the San Diego Peterschmidts (minus one Matthew :( )!!. Yesterday was rest, but today we're hitting up La Jolla for some beach time, much to Jimmy's chagrin :) Also: it seems I have brought the wrong camera charger with me, so it may be a bit before we post some new photos. High five me. Last of the last before the camera died, this model we met in Belmont Park:

We're Heeeeeeere!
The great state of California was finally blessed with our presence today...we are without car trouble and well on our way across the great continent of North America. We're staying in a pretty sweet hostel in downtown SD, which we explored quite thoroughly this afternoon (Balboa Park, lots of Gaslamp District action, bumming in on a Weezer concert, etc...). One more night here, then moving on to Carlsbad for a couple of nights with the relatives! Photo break: todays explorations.

Delayed.
We're a day late and a dollar short unfortunately, due to some vehicular difficulties caused by one of Tucson's fine motorists pulling out in front of Jimmy, causing fun brake issues....HOWEVER! We will be back on schedule and in sunny SD no later than 3 pm manana! In the mean time, we will provide a photo break of our last day in Tucson, sponsored by Beardo & its supporting entity, Beerstache:
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
