Oui!

Quebec City is much much smaller than Montreal, and it takes the form of a very old walled-in section dating back to the 1600’s (the only walled in city north of the Rio Grande, as a matter of fact!), with the modern-day metropolis surrounding it. We only were here for an afternoon and evening due to our impending poverty and the relatively expensive nature of the city, but it was very beautiful and well worth the trek. We spent all of our time in the historic area, which was very touristy but nonetheless gorgeous. Countless street performers roamed the busy pedestrian cobblestone walkways, shut off from traffic to allow for visitors to roam the area freely, as it is rather small. The enormous and beautiful Le Chateau Frontenac looms over the deep blue Saint Lawrence River as it looks over to the Île d'Orléans on the opposite side of the quickly moving waters. Sitting in the Chateau’s presence on the boardwalk on an antique bench, overlooking the lights of the city dancing on the water of the river to the sounds of a lone woman playing Claire de Lune on the flute, Dale was very much reminded of looking over the River Seine to the opposite side of Paris. Although very expensive, we had a really beautiful time and would love to come back someday.
